- Better is the little of the righteous
Than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken,
But the Lord sustains the righteous. - In You, Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never be put to shame;
In Your righteousness rescue me. - For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, by having served and by still serving the saints.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked, what is perverted. - Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
- I will rejoice greatly in the Lord,
My soul will be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a groom puts on a turban,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - Do not envy a violent person,
And do not choose any of his ways.
For the devious are an abomination to the Lord;
But He is intimate with the upright. - This is what the Lord of armies has said: ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’
- And He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed.
- The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
And kind in all His works. - All things are permitted for me, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
- Hear my prayer, Lord,
Listen to my pleadings!
Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! - Vindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you,
And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
How blessed are all those who long for Him. - You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
- Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
- For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.
- But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and frolic like calves from the stall.
- And it will be righteousness for us if we are careful to follow all this commandment before the Lord our God, just as He commanded us.
- I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.
- At night my soul longs for You,
Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently;
For when the earth experiences Your judgments,
The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - But the one who did not know it, and committed acts deserving of a beating, will receive only a few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;
Whoever is discerning, let him know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
And the righteous will walk in them,
But wrongdoers will stumble in them.
