- There is a way which seems right to a person,
But its end is the way of death. - For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, by having served and by still serving the saints.
- In You, Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never be put to shame;
In Your righteousness rescue me. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked, what is perverted. - Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
- I will rejoice greatly in the Lord,
My soul will be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a groom puts on a turban,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - Do not envy a violent person,
And do not choose any of his ways.
For the devious are an abomination to the Lord;
But He is intimate with the upright. - And He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed.
- This is what the Lord of armies has said: ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’
- All things are permitted for me, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
- You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
- Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Hear my prayer, Lord,
Listen to my pleadings!
Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! - The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
And kind in all His works. - For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.
- Vindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. - Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you,
And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
How blessed are all those who long for Him. - At night my soul longs for You,
Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently;
For when the earth experiences Your judgments,
The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - But the one who did not know it, and committed acts deserving of a beating, will receive only a few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
- Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
- But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and frolic like calves from the stall.
- We are Jews by nature and not sinners from the Gentiles; nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - The Lord is good and upright;
Therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in justice,
And He teaches the humble His way. - Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
Who walk in the Law of the Lord.
The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver,
The heart of the wicked is worth little.For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.Next verse!With image
