- Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail
and the orchards will yield no food,
even though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
I will continue to rejoice in the Lord,
and exult in the God of my salvation. - Indeed, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
- Because in my eyes you are precious,
because you are honored and I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you
and nations in return for your life. - My deliverance and my glory depend on God;
he is my mighty rock and my refuge. - I am the gate.
Anyone who enters through me
will be saved.
He will go in and out
and will find pasture. - For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - When the command is given, at the sound of the archangel’s voice and the call of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will descend from heaven, and those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise. Then those of us who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord. And so, we will be with the Lord forever.
- Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- But whoever endures to the end will be saved.
- Whoever possesses the Son
possesses life;
whoever does not possess the Son of God
does not possess life. - I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you. I will remove from your body a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh in its place.
- Therefore, he has the full power to save those who approach God through him, since he lives forever to intercede for them.
- I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold. - Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
save me, and I will be saved;
you are the one whom I praise. - In other words, God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, and not holding people’s transgressions against them, and he committed to us the message of reconciliation.
- And now, brethren, I want to remind you of the gospel I proclaimed to you, which you received and in which you stand firm. Through it you are also being saved, provided that you are holding fast to what I proclaimed to you. If not, then you have believed in vain.
- For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
- The righteous call out, and the Lord hears them;
he rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord remains close to the brokenhearted,
and he saves those whose spirit is crushed. - But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- A thief comes only
to steal and kill and destroy.
I have come
that they may have life,
and have it in abundance. - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;
whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God rests upon him. - Not because of any righteous deeds on our part
but because of his mercy,
he saved us through the bath of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit. - As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. - For I know that through your prayers and with the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will result in deliverance for me.
- For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.
