- Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
- Evil people get rich for the moment,
but the reward of the godly will last. - Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
- Their ways are futile and foolish.
They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol.
They decorate it with gold and silver
and then fasten it securely with hammer and nails
so it won’t fall over.
Their gods are like
helpless scarecrows in a cucumber field!
They cannot speak,
and they need to be carried because they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of such gods,
for they can neither harm you nor do you any good. - No one is holy like the Lord!
There is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God. - Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right,
speaking the truth from sincere hearts.
Those who refuse to gossip
or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends. - So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.
- The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.
- Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”
- No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
- Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
- And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped.
- Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.
- Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
- Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
- The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever. - Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.
- You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
- Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
- No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
- I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.
- But for us,
There is one God, the Father,
by whom all things were created,
and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
and through whom we live. - In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. You should each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is acceptable.
- Such people will not be overcome by evil.
Those who are righteous will be long remembered. - This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
