Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. | Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. |
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law. | The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. |
For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death. | For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. |
But the one who boasts is to boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself that is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. | But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. |
And God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. | And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. |
Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness? | Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? |
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice, mend your ways, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. | Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. |
