So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |
As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. | As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. |
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. |
You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. | Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. |
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. | And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. |
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. | For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. |
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. | For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. |
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. | Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. |
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. | But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. |
Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” | Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. |
For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. | For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. |
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. | Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. |
“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. | But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. |
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. | And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. |
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. | The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. |
Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. | Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. |
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? | Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? |
