- The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
- You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- The saying is trustworthy, for:
If we have died with him,
we will also live with him. - Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.
- There is none holy like the Lord:
for there is none besides you;
there is no rock like our God. - May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
- He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
- Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- He will render to each one according to his works.
- But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
- Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
- Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
- So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
- Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.
- Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
- The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low and he exalts. - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
- Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
- When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with the humble is wisdom. - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”
