- But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.
- Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one of them has failed.
- The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender. - By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
- Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
- I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules. - Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a prince. - Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
- The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
- Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
- Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.
- The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever you get, get insight. - On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God. - Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
- And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
- For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
- Save us, we pray, O Lord!
O Lord, we pray, give us success!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
We bless you from the house of the Lord. - The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. - For the Lord God does nothing
without revealing his secret
to his servants the prophets. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”
- To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
