My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.”
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “an idol has no real existence,” and that “there is no God but one.”
