Ate (2/4)

  • Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a right spirit within me.
  • Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
  • You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
  • These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat whatever has fins and scales. You shall not eat whatever doesn’t have fins and scales. It is unclean to you.
  • The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil.
I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
  • Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil.
  • When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
  • Get wisdom.
    Get understanding.
Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth.
  • Like water reflects a face,
so a man’s heart reflects the man.
  • In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.
  • As the deer pants for the water brooks,
so my soul pants after you, God.
  • Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!”
  • Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.
  • But our God is in the heavens.
    He does whatever he pleases.
  • As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them.”
  • Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
  • The second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
  • For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Whoever loves correction loves knowledge,
but he who hates reproof is stupid.
  • Who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.
  • You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
  • For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
  • It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication,
then later to consider his vows.
  • We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds.
  • The vine has dried up, and the fig tree withered—
the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree,
    even all of the trees of the field are withered;
for joy has withered away from the sons of men.

All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

A fool despises his father’s correction,
but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.
