- God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
- There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
- No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
- For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
- So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
- All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation.
- “As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning.”
- This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
- In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God. - Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God. - Who has done such mighty deeds,
summoning each new generation from the beginning of time?
It is I, the Lord, the First and the Last.
I alone am he. - So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father.
- Christ is also the head of the church,
which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.
So he is first in everything. - But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?
- “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
- But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
- Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
- For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.
- From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
- This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
- So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man.
- The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning. - But ‘God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation. ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.
- But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die.
For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.Next verse! With image
