- What is born of the flesh is flesh,
and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. - Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say: Rejoice!

conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
is our faith. - Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
- Jesus addressed them once again, saying,
“I am the light of the world.
The one who follows me
will never walk in darkness.
Rather, he will have the light of life.” - After Jesus had been born in Bethlehem of Judea during the reign of King Herod, wise men traveled from the east and arrived in Jerusalem, inquiring, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw the rising of his star, and we have come to pay him homage.”
- Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
my Savior and my God. - The kingdom of heaven is like treasure buried in a field, which a man found and buried again. Then in his joy he went off and sold everything he had and bought that field.
- For a child has been born to us,
a son has been given to us.
Upon his shoulders dominion rests,
and this is the name he has been given:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. - Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by mutual consent for a specified time so as to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan may not tempt you by taking advantage of your lack of self-control.
- The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.”
- He is not here. He has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee: that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified and rise again on the third day.
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In his great mercy he has given us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can be done to make it salty once again? It is no longer good for anything, and thus it is cast out and trampled underfoot.
- For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!”
- Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance toward maturity. We must not be forever laying the foundation: repentance for actions that lead to death, faith in God, instruction about baptisms and the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

from everlasting to everlasting you are God. - Just as he came forth naked from his mother’s womb,

- Let us examine and test our ways
and return to the Lord. - Restore us, O Lord of hosts;
let your face shine upon us,
and we will be saved. - They will never again experience hunger or thirst,
nor will the sun or any scorching heat cause them discomfort.
For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd.
He will guide them to springs of living water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. - Though he was in the form of God,
he did not regard equality with God
as something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
Being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself,
and became obedient to death,
even death on a cross. - For the love of Christ urges us forward, once we conclude that one has died for all, and therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for him who for their sakes died and was raised to life.
- But whoever drinks the water that I will give him
will never be thirsty.
The water that I will give him
will become a spring of water within him
welling up to eternal life. - Then I came to realize that all toil and skill in work derive from one person’s envy of another. This also is vanity and a chase after the wind.
- Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
- Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside, and he saw and believed. They still did not understand the Scripture indicating that he must rise from the dead.
- May the God of peace—who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant— make you perfect in every respect so that you may do his will. And may he enable us to achieve what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

- For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
- Who among you is wise and understanding? Prove by your good life that your works are done with the humility that comes from wisdom.
- God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him. - What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before?
