Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Brother'
- A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
- Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
- And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
- A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not;
neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity:
for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. - But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
- And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
- Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
- Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
- Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
- If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
- Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
- Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.
- Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.
- Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
- Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brethren to dwell together in unity! - Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
- These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
- And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
- Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
- Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous.
- Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah. Since thou wast precious in my sight,
thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee:
therefore will I give men for thee,
and people for thy life.Next verse! With image
