Bible Verses about 'Doing'

  • Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.
  • Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.
  • But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves.
  • But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your charitable giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
  • Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
    Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
    Stop doing evil.
  • Let love of the brothers and sisters continue. Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
  • For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.
  • If, because of the Sabbath, you restrain your foot
    From doing as you wish on My holy day,
    And call the Sabbath a pleasure, and the holy day of the Lord honorable,
    And honor it, desisting from your own ways,
    From seeking your own pleasure
    And speaking your own word,
    Then you will take delight in the Lord,
    And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
    And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
    For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
  • Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker—
    A piece of pottery among the other earthenware pottery pieces!
    Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’
    Or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’?
  • But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.
  • But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be in dread.
  • As for the things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
  • Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment.
  • Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
  • For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
  • Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
  • And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain. The Pharisees were saying to Him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry; how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests, and he also gave it to those who were with him?” Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.”
  • I delight to do Your will, my God;
    Your Law is within my heart.
  • Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.
  • But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
  • For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
  • Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves.
  • Because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.
  • How I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was beneficial, and teaching you publicly and from house to house.

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to keep many people alive.
