Bible Verses about 'Doing'

Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Therefore, encourage one another and strengthen one another, as indeed you are doing.Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Let mutual love continue, and do not forget to offer hospitality to strangers, for by doing this some have entertained angels without knowing it.Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them. But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.
Do the things that you have learned, received, and heard from me and that you saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Therefore, you have no excuse, whoever you may be, when you pass judgment on others. For in judging others you condemn yourself, since you are doing the same things. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker, or to the pot that is displeased with the potter. Does the clay say to the one who molds it, “What are you doing? Your work makes no sense.”Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
Preach the message; be persistent in doing so, whether in season or out of season; convince, reprove, and encourage, but with great patience and instruction.Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a day of joy and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way, serving your own interests, or attending to your own affairs; then you will find true happiness in the Lord, and I will enable you to ride upon the heights of the earth. I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt. And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as if you were doing it for the Lord and not for others, since you know that you will receive from the Lord an inheritance as your reward for you are serving the Lord Christ. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
To do your will, O God, is my delight; your law is in my heart.I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Wash yourselves and become clean; remove your evil deeds far from my sight. Cease to do evil.Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil.
For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of justice, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
One day, as Jesus was passing through a field of grain on the Sabbath, his disciples began to pick some heads of grain as they walked along. The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why are your disciples doing what is forbidden on the Sabbath?” He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? He entered the house of God when Abiathar was high priest and ate the sacred bread that only the priests were permitted to eat, and he shared it with his companions.” Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. That is why the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God.But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Hence, I advise you to be guided by the Spirit, so that you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
That is why you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, and they devote themselves to this service. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vanity, but humbly regard others as better than yourselves.Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
