- This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. - Owe nothing to anyone except the debt of love you owe one another. The one who loves others has fulfilled the Law.
- Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
- Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
- Above all, maintain the fervor of your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
- For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.
- Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render fair judgments, and show kindness and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor. Do not plot evil in your heart against one another.
- Peter answered, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
- The heart is more deceitful than any other thing,
and it is also perverse.
Who can uncover its secrets?
I, the Lord, search the heart
and probe the mind
to reward all according to their conduct
and as their deeds deserve. - On one Sabbath as Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, a woman was present, possessed by a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and completely unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” Then he laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and began praising God.
But the leader of the synagogue was indignant because Jesus had effected a cure on the Sabbath, and he said to the assembled people, “There are six days when work is permitted. Come on those days and be cured, and not on the Sabbath.” The Lord said to him in reply, “You hypocrites! Is there a single one of you who does not untie his ox or his donkey and lead it from its stall to give it water on the Sabbath? Should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has held bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the Sabbath?” At these words, all his adversaries were put to shame, and the people rejoiced at all the wonderful things he was doing. - Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself.
- May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ.
- Brethren, if anyone is detected committing a transgression, you who are spiritual must set him right in a spirit of gentleness. Meanwhile, you should take care so that you yourselves are not tempted.
- Therefore, we love because he first loved us.
- All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind.
- I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. - With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love.
- Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
- May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you.
- During the day the Lord grants his kindness,
and at night his praise is with me,
a prayer to the living God. - Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble.
- Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by mutual consent for a specified time so as to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan may not tempt you by taking advantage of your lack of self-control.
- There is a way that seems right to a man,
but the end of it leads to death. - Blessed be the Lord, day after day,
the God of our salvation, who carries our burden. Selah - Two are better than one:
they earn a far greater reward for their toil.
