FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO AND WILL (4/4)

  • And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much.
  • Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
  • In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
    let me never be put to shame;
    in your righteousness deliver me.
  • I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
  • Why do you take note of the splinter in your brother’s eye but do not notice the wooden plank in your own eye?
  • But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
  • For to you a thousand years
are like a yesterday that has passed
or one of the watches of the night.
  • “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
  • When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
  • If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
  • How much more valuable a man is than a sheep! Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
  • What is born of the flesh is flesh,
and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
  • For it has been granted you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him.
  • To these God chose to make known how rich is the priceless glory that this mystery brings to the Gentiles—Christ in you, your hope of glory.
  • How great is your goodness, O Lord,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people.
  • If someone says, “I love God,”
but at the same time hates his brother,
    he is a liar.
For whoever does not love the brother
    whom he has seen
cannot love God whom he has not seen.
  • Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
  • O Lord, hear my prayer,
incline your ear to my supplications.
In your faithfulness respond to me
    with your righteousness.
  • May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ.
  • Instruct those who are rich in this world’s goods that they should not be proud, nor should they trust in the uncertainty of riches but rather in God who richly provides us with everything we need for our enjoyment.
  • Let what you heard from the beginning
    remain in you.
If what you heard from the beginning
    remains in you,
then you will remain in the Son
    and in the Father.
  • He proclaimed his covenant to you which he ordered you to fulfill, the Ten Commandments, that he wrote upon two tablets of stone.
  • At dawn let me experience your kindness,
for in you I place my trust.
Show me the path I must walk,
for to you I lift up my soul.
  • This is the conclusion I have reached: it is fitting for a man to eat and drink and find satisfaction in the results of his labors under the sun during the brief span of life that God has allotted him.
  • For as it is written,
“Eye has not seen, ear has not heard,
nor has the human heart imagined
what God has prepared for those who love him.”
