- Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I am warning you, as I warned you before: those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- Deceit is in the mind of those who plan evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. - May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus.
- If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds —
his name is the Lord—
be exultant before him.
Father of orphans and protector of widows
is God in his holy habitation. - And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.
- Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?
- And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and all were judged according to what they had done.
- In you, O Lord, I seek refuge;
do not let me ever be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”
- If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
- And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- O how abundant is your goodness
that you have laid up for those who fear you,
and accomplished for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of everyone! - When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.
- Just as you do not know how the breath comes to the bones in the mother's womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything.
- Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
- When your eyes light upon it, it is gone;
for suddenly it takes wings to itself,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
- What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness;
answer me in your righteousness.
