- For whoso findeth me findeth life,
and shall obtain favour of the Lord. - Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing,
and obtaineth favour of the Lord. - For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous;
with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. - For his anger endureth but a moment;
in his favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night,
but joy cometh in the morning. - And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
- A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,
and loving favour rather than silver and gold. - And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;
yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. - Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:
bind them about thy neck;
write them upon the table of thine heart:
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding
in the sight of God and man. - The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;
but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. - Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men. - And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
- Make thy face to shine upon thy servant:
save me for thy mercies' sake. - Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight,
O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. - The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. - For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
- Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
- For they got not the land in possession by their own sword,
neither did their own arm save them:
but thy right hand, and thine arm,
and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
- A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs with discretion. - Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain:
but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us.
