Happy are those who fear the Lord,

- Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart to revere your name. - So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.
- But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
- Therefore keep the commandments of the Lord your God, by walking in his ways and by fearing him.
- Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being.
- Blessed are those who trust in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
They shall be like a tree planted by water,
sending out its roots by the stream.
It shall not fear when heat comes,
and its leaves shall stay green;
in the year of drought it is not anxious,
and it does not cease to bear fruit. - In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me? - I, I am he who comforts you;
why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die,
a human being who fades like grass? - Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
- But I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
