Chinese (traditional)- How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you. - Praise the Lord.
Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
who find great delight in his commands. - Teach me your way, Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name. - Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!
- The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
- The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
- So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts. - I, even I, am he who comforts you.
Who are you that you fear mere mortals,
human beings who are but grass. - It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.
- For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
- So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?” - Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
- But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
- Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.
- And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
- Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
- But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit. - Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
- In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
- Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
- Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
- No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.Next verse!With image
