- This is a trustworthy saying:
If we die with him,
we will also live with him. - Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
- The commandments of the Lord are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving insight for living. - Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
- Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with the best part of everything you produce. - They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
- Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.”
- Oh, what joy for those
whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight! - I take joy in doing your will, my God,
for your instructions are written on my heart. - May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us.
- I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

Grant me purity of heart,
so that I may honor you. - But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.”

- Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.

- Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
- Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
- I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look with lust at a young woman. - He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”
- Better to have little, with godliness,
than to be rich and dishonest. - What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord,
whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. - Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
