When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. | And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. |
| Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. | Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! |
| Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. | Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. |
| Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. | Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! |
| Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. | Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! |
