- Teach us to realize the brevity of life,
so that we may grow in wisdom. - So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.

And God will wipe every tear from their eyes. - I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.
- That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
- My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life. - There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
- Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
