- Defend the poor and fatherless:
do justice to the afflicted and needy. - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
- Open thy mouth, judge righteously,
and plead the cause of the poor and needy. - Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
- Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
- Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
- The statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
- Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:
remove thy foot from evil. - The rich ruleth over the poor,
and the borrower is servant to the lender. - Let us search and try our ways,
and turn again to the Lord. - Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - To do justice and judgment
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
- He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. - The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
- Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
- Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
- Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:
but they that deal truly are his delight. - The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:
but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. - It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy,
and after vows to make enquiry. - I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
- And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
- O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord:
my goodness extendeth not to thee.
He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.Next verse! With image
