- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- My deliverance and my glory depend on God;
he is my mighty rock and my refuge. - This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- The name of the Lord is a tower of strength;
the upright man runs to it and finds refuge. - This is the message
that we have heard from him
and that we declare to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness at all in him. - God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- We have come to know
and to believe in
the love that God has for us.
God is love,
and whoever abides in love
abides in God,
and God in him. - For the Lord, your God, is gracious and compassionate, and he will not turn his face away from you if you return to him.
- But I will sing of your strength;
when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness.
For you have been my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble. - Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- I can do all things in him who strengthens me.
- The time of fulfillment has arrived, and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.
- The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright,
but destruction for evildoers. - God is not human, that he should lie,
or the son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act,
does he promise and then not fulfill it? - Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.
- And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works.
- My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a contrite and humble heart, O God,
you will not spurn. - To do your will, O God, is my delight;
your law is in my heart. - Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.
- In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom should I be afraid? - The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.
- Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. - Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
power, glory, strength, and majesty,
for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all. - Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom;
fear the Lord and turn your back on evil.
This will provide healing for your flesh
and restore strength to your body.
Indeed, the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword, it pierces to the point where it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and the intentions of the heart.I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you. I will remove from your body a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh in its place. Brethren, I exhort you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to be in full agreement with one another and not permit any divisions to arise among you. Be perfectly united in mind and purpose.Next verse!With image
