God is strength (3/4)

  • Indeed, the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword, it pierces to the point where it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and the intentions of the heart.
  • If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple.
  • The Lord, your God, is in your midst,
    a warrior and a savior.
He will rejoice over you with gladness
and renew you through his love.
He will exult over you with shouts of joy.
  • While experiencing temptation, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
  • For God would not be so unjust as to ignore your work and the love that you have shown for his name by the services you have rendered to the saints and still continue to render.
  • Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.
  • At the appointed time, while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly.
  • Honor your father and your mother so that your days may be lengthened in the land that the Lord your God, will give you.
  • I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.
  • You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.
  • The way of God is blameless;
the Lord’s promise has proved true.
He is a shield to all
    who take refuge in him.
  • The way of God is blameless,
    and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety.
  • Indeed, who is God except the Lord?
Who is the Rock besides our God?
  • For I will provide the weary with all they need, and I will restore the strength of all those who have grown faint with hunger.
  • The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me
because the Lord has anointed me.
He has sent me to announce good news to the oppressed,
    to strengthen the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom to those held in captivity
and release to those who have been imprisoned.
  • For who is God except the Lord?
Who is a rock aside from our God?
  • Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart
    find favor in your sight,
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
  • A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
  • Blessed be the Lord, day after day,
the God of our salvation, who carries our burden. Selah
  • For nothing will be impossible for God.
  • Cure the sick who are there, and say, ‘The kingdom of God has come unto you.’
  • All this took place in order to fulfill what the Lord had announced through the prophet:
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and give birth to a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
a name that means “God is with us.”
  • But God is rich in his mercy, and because he had such great love for us, he brought us to life with Christ when we were already dead through sin—it is by grace that you have been saved.
  • Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified of them, for the Lord, your God, is going forth with you. He will never leave you or abandon you.
  • For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all is God.

Meanwhile, the Church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, building up strength and living in the fear of the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the Church grew in numbers.
