- Meanwhile, the Church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, building up strength and living in the fear of the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the Church grew in numbers.
- By faith Abraham also received the power of procreation, even though he was well past the age—and Sarah herself was barren—because he believed that the one who had made the promise would be faithful in fulfilling it.
- You shall obey his statutes and the commandments that I give you today, so that all may go well with you and your children after you, and that you may live long in the land that the Lord, your God, has given you for all time.
- But he answered me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” Hence, I will boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell within me.
- Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.” - How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who bears good news and proclaims glad tidings,
announcing salvation and saying to Zion,
“Your God is king.” - No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - Preferable is the little that the righteous possess
than the great wealth of the wicked.
For the power of the wicked will be overcome,
but the Lord protects the righteous. - And I heard a loud voice proclaim from the throne:
“Behold, God’s dwelling is with mankind;
he will dwell with them.
They will be his people,
and he will be their God,
God-with-them.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes,
and there will no longer be death.
Neither will there be any mourning or crying or pain,
for the old order has passed away.” - To you, O God of my fathers,
I offer thanks and praise
because you have given me wisdom and power.
Now you have made known to me
what we asked of you;
you have revealed to us the king’s dream. - Then Peter addressed them: “I now understand how true it is that God has no favorites, but that in every nation all those who fear God and do what is right are acceptable to him.”
- God abides in anyone who acknowledges
that Jesus is the Son of God,
and that person abides in God. - Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to all those on whom his favor rests. - What right do you have to pass judgment on someone else’s servant? The master will determine whether that servant will stand or fall. But the servant will be upheld, for the Lord has the power to enable him to stand.
- For there is one God,
and there is one mediator between God and man,
Christ Jesus, himself a man. - We also know
that the Son of God has come
and given us understanding
so that we can know the one who is true.
And we are in the one who is true,
since we are in his Son Jesus Christ.
He is the true God and eternal life. - There is no holy one like the Lord,
there is none beside you,
nor is there a rock like our God. - He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”
- And not only that, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we realize that suffering develops perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.
- And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. - My soul thirsts for God, the living God.
When shall I come to behold the face of God? - God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, but now he commands people everywhere to repent.
- Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”
- I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
