- Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
- Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.
- Seek good, and not evil,
that you may live;
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you,
as you have said. - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground! - Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,
but a good word makes him glad. - To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
- Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
- For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
- And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
- See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
- As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
- Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- Whoever gets sense loves his own soul;
he who keeps understanding will discover good. - But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
- Learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause. - Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way. - Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
- He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
- But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
