- Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.
- You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that the Lord has not spoken?” If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it.
- The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this.
- To this day I have had help from God, and so I stand here, testifying to both small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would take place: that the Messiah must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- Jesus answered them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.”
- Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him;
do not fret over those who prosper in their way,
over those who carry out evil devices. - But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
- If you will only obey the Lord your God, by diligently observing all his commandments that I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
- Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today.
- When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved.”
- Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
- For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.
- And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one thing has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you; all have come to pass for you, not one of them has failed.
- All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means, “God is with us.” - Happy is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways. - Happy are those who find wisdom,
and those who get understanding. - Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - Happy are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - Happy are those who keep his decrees,
who seek him with their whole heart. - O taste and see that the Lord is good;
happy are those who take refuge in him. - Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - Praise the Lord!
Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments. - How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - Those who are attentive to a matter will prosper,
and happy are those who trust in the Lord. - Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers.
One sabbath he was going through the grainfields; and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? He entered the house of God, when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and he gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The sabbath was made for humankind, and not humankind for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.”The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.Next verse!With image
