Chinese (traditional)- This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. - For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
- For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts;
his name is the Lord;
exult before him!
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows
is God in his holy habitation. - For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
- Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted. - And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
- If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
- Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
- For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.
- Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
- Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
- Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all. - The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. - He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him. - And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
- God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.
- No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
- Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices! - Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
- Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
