For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.The Lord is slow to anger but great in power, and he will never allow the guilty to escape punishment. He makes his way in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust beneath his feet.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.Anyone who is victorious will be dressed like these in white robes, and I shall not blot his name from the book of life. Rather, I shall acknowledge it in the presence of my Father and his angels.
For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.For the Lord takes delight in his people, and he crowns the humble with salvation.
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.Great is the Lord and worthy of the highest praise; no one can even begin to comprehend his greatness.
For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.For the Lord himself is the one who bestows wisdom; from his mouth come forth knowledge and understanding.
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.With his mouth the godless man seeks to ruin his neighbor, but knowledge enables the righteous to be delivered.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.The tax collector, however, stood some distance away and would not even raise his eyes to heaven. Rather, he kept beating his breast as he said, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner.’
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his mercy endures forever.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son gives grief to his mother.
If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.If you listen to the voice of the Lord, your God, and you do what is right in his sight, if you listen to his ordinances and observe all of his laws, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.If you obey the command that I give you today, to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways, and to observe his commandments, statutes, and decrees, then you will live and multiply, and the Lord, your God, will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.He is the reflection of God’s glory and the perfect expression of his very being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. Achieving purification from sins, he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews.Above his head was inscribed the charge against him: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.Whoever observes the commandments will live, but the one who scorns them will die.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.For he guards the paths of justice and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones.
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.The one who leads a blameless life and does what is right, who speaks the truth from the heart and does not slander anyone, who does not harm a friend and does not scorn a neighbor.
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.And yet he is aware of everywhere I go; if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold. My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established; I have followed his way and never turned aside.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those who trust in his kindness.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever.
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
