- Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go. - For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
- But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
- Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.

The Lord gave me what I had,
and the Lord has taken it away.
Praise the name of the Lord!” - As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”
- All who fear the Lord will hate evil.
Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance,
corruption and perverse speech. - And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
- And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
- For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.
- In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God. - Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
- You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness.
- And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.
- And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.
- What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.
- For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.
- Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!
- They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
- For,
There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. - But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die.
- A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. - Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.
- For the Scriptures say,
“If you want to enjoy life
and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” - In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
