Bible Verses about 'Husband and wife'
- Let the husband give his wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife her husband. The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
- But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
- Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.
- Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor of Yahweh. - Yahweh God made garments of animal skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.
- House and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from Yahweh. - When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.
- For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh.
- Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
- Who can find a worthy woman?
For her value is far above rubies. - You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
- But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.
- But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
- He answered, “Haven’t you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh’? So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart.”
- Yahweh God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.
- Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to David’s city, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to enroll himself with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him as wife, being pregnant.
- Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News, but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time: houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life.”
- You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman as to the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
- Depart from evil, and do good.
Seek peace, and pursue it. - For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God.
- You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
- Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
- The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh
is wealth, honor, and life. - “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
- Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.
- I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!”
- Let us search and try our ways,
and turn again to Yahweh. - He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.
- We have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances.
- I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture.
- But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
- I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
- You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.
- Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all! In your hand is power and might! It is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all!
- Tear your heart and not your garments,
and turn to Yahweh, your God;
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness,
and relents from sending calamity. - So we fasted and begged our God for this, and he granted our request.
- Don’t judge,
and you won’t be judged.
Don’t condemn,
and you won’t be condemned.
Set free,
and you will be set free. - Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me.
- For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
- Trust in Yahweh, and do good.
Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. - God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- I sought Yahweh, and he answered me,
and delivered me from all my fears. - Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
- But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
- Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”
- Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase.
