- Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
- So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
- If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.

and to break every yoke? - No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
- When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
- And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
- Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
- Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
- Even to your old age I am he,
and to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save. - Take with you words
and return to the Lord;
say to him,
“Take away all iniquity;
accept what is good,
and we will pay with bulls
the vows of our lips.” - I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
- If you turn at my reproof,
behold, I will pour out my spirit to you;
I will make my words known to you. - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing his opinion. - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
- But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
