| He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. | Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe in him already stands condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. |

| For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. | For it has been granted you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him. |
