- Where can I go to hide from your spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I take my rest in the netherworld, you are also there. - Guide my steps in accord with your word
and never let evil triumph over me. - In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
- Let your face shine upon your servant;
save me in your kindness. - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring the good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to prisoners
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free. - I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.
- Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- Let your love be sincere. Loathe what is evil and hold fast to what is good.
- Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory shine over all the earth. - The whispers of a gossiper are tasty morsels
that corrode one’s inner being. - Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus.
- At dawn let me experience your kindness,
for in you I place my trust.
Show me the path I must walk,
for to you I lift up my soul. - Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives
do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled;
be not afraid. - So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober.
- This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us exult and rejoice in it. - You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name. - This rather is the type of fast that I wish:
to loosen the fetters of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to set free those who are oppressed
and to break every yoke. - Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds;
let this be known throughout the entire world. - Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
- Let those who are wise understand these words,
and let the prudent acknowledge them.
For straight are the ways of the Lord;
the upright walk in them,
but sinners stumble. - Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
- Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.
- Return and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: Thus says the Lord, the God of David, your father: I have heard, I have seen your tears. I will heal you today, and the day after tomorrow you will go up to the temple of the Lord.
