incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. - On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me.”
- Restore us, O Lord God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved. - As they came from their mother's womb, so they shall go again, naked as they came; they shall take nothing for their toil, which they may carry away with their hands.
- Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions of them to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord; and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
- Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.
- You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.
- When a man is newly married, he shall not go out with the army or be charged with any related duty. He shall be free at home one year, to be happy with the wife whom he has married.
