Chinese (traditional)- When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
- Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. - This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him,
and saved him out of all his troubles. - For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
- For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
- The fear of man bringeth a snare:
but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. - But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
- A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - A fool uttereth all his mind:
but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. - For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
- O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him. - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me? - Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?
by taking heed thereto according to thy word. - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
- Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
- I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. - Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
and before honour is humility. - It is better to trust in the Lord
than to put confidence in man. - There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death. - Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
- The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
but the poor heareth not rebuke. - And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
- Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
- But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
- A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth:
and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.Next verse! With image
