- Behold, happy is the person whom God disciplines,
So do not reject the discipline of the Almighty. - A prudent person sees evil and hides himself;
But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty. - And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
- Every person’s way is right in his own eyes,
But the Lord examines the hearts. - Indeed, there is not a righteous person on earth who always does good and does not ever sin.
- Who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.
- He who finds a wife finds a good thing
And obtains favor from the Lord. - Avoiding strife is an honor for a person,
But any fool will quarrel. - Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! - Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
- Words from the mouth of a wise person are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him.
- It goes well for a person who is gracious and lends;
He will maintain his cause in judgment. - So husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
- One who is slow to anger has great understanding;
But one who is quick-tempered exalts foolishness. - Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;
Do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way,
Because of the person who carries out wicked schemes. - A rich person’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own imagination. - Like a city that is broken into and without walls
So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit. - He has told you, mortal one, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God? - The wicked borrows and does not pay back,
But the righteous is gracious and gives. - All day long he is craving,
While the righteous gives and does not hold back. - With the faithful You show Yourself faithful;
With the blameless You prove Yourself blameless. - A person of too many friends comes to ruin,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - Nevertheless, as for you individually, each husband is to love his own wife the same as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.
- Do not envy a violent person,
And do not choose any of his ways.
For the devious are an abomination to the Lord;
But He is intimate with the upright. - Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose trust is the Lord.
For he will be like a tree planted by the water
That extends its roots by a stream,
And does not fear when the heat comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of drought,
Nor cease to yield fruit.
