Wealth is a ransom for a person's life, but the poor get no threats.A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.
With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can mortals do to me?The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals.It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.
To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone, and a word in season, how good it is!A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!
Praise the Lord! Happy are those who fear the Lord, who greatly delight in his commandments.Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands.
He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.
For what human being knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice.Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers.Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.
The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Fools show their anger at once, but the prudent ignore an insult.Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.

Some friends play at friendship but a true friend sticks closer than one's nearest kin.One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
