For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals.It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.
To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone, and a word in season, how good it is!A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!
Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and of people.Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Or can one walk on hot coals without scorching the feet?Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
All deeds are right in the sight of the doer, but the Lord weighs the heart.A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.
It is honorable to refrain from strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
For all of us make many mistakes. Anyone who makes no mistakes in speaking is perfect, able to keep the whole body in check with a bridle.We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice.Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband.However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
The clever see danger and hide; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.
How happy is the one whom God reproves; therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
