Wealth is a ransom for a person's life, but the poor get no threats.The rich can pay a ransom for their lives, but the poor won’t even get threatened.
With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can mortals do to me?The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals.It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people.
To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone, and a word in season, how good it is!Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time!

How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath.
Or can one walk on hot coals without scorching the feet?Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet?
All deeds are right in the sight of the doer, but the Lord weighs the heart.People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.
It is honorable to refrain from strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.
It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice.Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God.Don’t be fooled by what they say. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.
Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband.So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and of people.Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
The clever see danger and hide; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
How happy is the one whom God reproves; therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.
In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers.Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
With the loyal you show yourself loyal; with the blameless you show yourself blameless.To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Fools show their anger at once, but the prudent ignore an insult.A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.
