- Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

he who begets a wise son will be glad in him. - Because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
- Anxiety weighs down the human heart,
but a good word cheers it up. - But Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
- And he said, “It is what comes out of a person that defiles. For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
- Words spoken by the wise bring them favor,
but the lips of fools consume them. - Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have clothed yourselves with the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its creator.
- The wealth of the rich is their strong city;
in their imagination it is like a high wall. - Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but not for God; for God all things are possible.”
- You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.
- All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.
- With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - It is a snare for one to say rashly, “It is holy,”
and begin to reflect only after making a vow. - He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
