  • While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
  • He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
  • If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
  • If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

  • But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
  • We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!
  • Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
  • Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

  • Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
  • If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
  • Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
  • And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
  • But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
  • And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
  • So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
  • Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
  • Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
  • So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
  • His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
  • While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
  • Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
  • Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  • Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
  • They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.
  • Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews.

  • She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
  • All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
  • After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
  • Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.
  • John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
  • Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
  • I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

  • Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
  • From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
  • “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
  • Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
  • Blessed are the poor in spirit,
    for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
