- You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves.

- And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you are not to be afraid of him.
- All things are permitted for me, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
- A trustworthy witness will not lie,
But a false witness declares lies. - He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
- For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.
- When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you. - Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
- Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.
- Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.
- So Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not My own, but His who sent Me.”
- ‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord;
‘I will not look at you in anger.
For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord;
‘I will not be angry forever.’ - What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Far from it!
- Arise, Lord; God, lift up Your hand.
Do not forget the humble. - The Lord is for me; I will not fear;
What can man do to me? - For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
- Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
