- Dear children,
let us love not in word or speech

The Lord is the eternal God,
the Creator of the earth’s farthest boundaries.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding cannot be scrutinized. - Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight. Even the hairs on your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth far more than any number of sparrows.
- Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
- Be doers of the word and not just hearers who only deceive themselves.
- Do not be lacking in zeal, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor.
- O Lord, all my longing is known to you,
and my sighs are not hidden from you. - You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, nor his oxen, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.
- Bless those who persecute you; bless them and do not curse them.
- Train a child in the way he should go,
and he will not deviate from it, even in old age. - The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, as some think in terms of delay, but he is patient with you. It is not his wish that any should perish but rather that all should be brought to repentance.
- You can eat any water creature that has fins and scales; those you can eat. Whatever does not have fins or scales, you are not to eat. It is unclean for you.
- If you refuse to listen to me
and do not sincerely resolve
to give glory to my name,
says the Lord of hosts,
I will send a curse on you,
and I will turn your blessings into a curse.
Indeed, I have already done so
because you have not heeded my warning. - Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren.
- Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth,
and cease even to think about it. - Blessed is the man whom God reproves.
Therefore, do not reject the discipline of the Almighty. - Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them can fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even the hairs on your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth far more than any number of sparrows.
- You shall not hate your brother in your heart, nor shall you rebuke your brother in any way, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not seek vengeance nor bear a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- Even if an army encamps against me,
my heart will not succumb to fear;
even if war breaks out against me,
I will not have my trust shaken. - I am not asking you
to take them out of the world,
but I do ask you
to protect them from the evil one. - I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.
- My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a contrite and humble heart, O God,
you will not spurn. - And do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
