Chinese (traditional)- Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city. - A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. - Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
- Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
- See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. - Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.
- Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up. - A person’s riches may ransom their life,
but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes. - Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
- We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
- Do not envy the violent
or choose any of their ways.
For the Lord detests the perverse
but takes the upright into his confidence. - Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
- For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
- “And with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.” - Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
- My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
- Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
- If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.
- If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.
- The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
- The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.
- For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Whoever would foster love covers over an offense,
but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.Next verse!With image
