- For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
- The liberal soul shall be made fat:
and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
- One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
- And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
- The desire of a man is his kindness:
and a poor man is better than a liar. - Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. - Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
- Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
- A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death. - Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding. - A man's pride shall bring him low:
but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. - For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
- Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
- And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
- Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?
by taking heed thereto according to thy word. - How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
- Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
but a good word maketh it glad. - The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
but the poor heareth not rebuke. - Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
- Envy thou not the oppressor,
and choose none of his ways.
For the froward is abomination to the Lord:
but his secret is with the righteous. - For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
He that hath no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.Next verse!With image
