A gift opens doors;
it gives access to the great.
Proverbs 18:16 reward giving
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Proverbs 18:21 speaking blessing self-control
He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor from the Lord.
Proverbs 18:22 blessing marriage seeking
Some friends play at friendship
but a true friend sticks closer than one's nearest kin.

To get wisdom is to love oneself;
to keep understanding is to prosper.

House and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord.

Those who keep the commandment will live;
those who are heedless of their ways will die.
Proverbs 19:16 law eternal life sin
The human mind may devise many plans,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established.

What is desirable in a person is loyalty,
and it is better to be poor than a liar.

It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel.

It is a snare for one to say rashly, “It is holy,”
and begin to reflect only after making a vow.
Proverbs 20:25 holiness righteousness
All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart.
Proverbs 21:2 righteousness judgment understanding
To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Proverbs 21:3 honesty righteousness sacrifice
Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
will find life and honor.
Proverbs 21:21 love righteousness life
All day long the wicked covet,
but the righteous give and do not hold back.
Proverbs 21:26 greed giving materialism
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold.
Proverbs 22:1 money materialism relationships
The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
is riches and honor and life.
Proverbs 22:4 humility reward awe
Train children in the right way,
and when old, they will not stray.
Proverbs 22:6 righteousness family children
The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
Proverbs 22:7 money debt slavery
Do not wear yourself out to get rich;
be wise enough to desist.
Proverbs 23:4 money greed planning
When your eyes light upon it, it is gone;
for suddenly it takes wings to itself,
flying like an eagle toward heaven.
Proverbs 23:5 money desires materialism
My child, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad.
Proverbs 23:15 wisdom heart joy
The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will be glad in him.
Proverbs 23:24 joy wisdom family
Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, you will find a future,
and your hope will not be cut off.

Like a city breached, without walls,
is one who lacks self-control.
Proverbs 25:28 self-control desires

Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your parent;
do not go to the house of your kindred in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is nearby
than kindred who are far away.
