Bible Verses about 'Romans 10-9'
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. | That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. |
For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. | For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes. |
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. | For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. |
As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” | For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” |
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” | For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” |
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. | So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. |
Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! | Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! |
For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. | For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. |
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. | Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. |
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. | And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. |
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. | For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. |
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. | For just as we have many parts in one body and all the body’s parts do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another. |
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. | Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. |
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. | Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor. |
Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. | Not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. |
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. | Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer. |
Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. | Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. |
Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. | Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. |
Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! | Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. |
Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. | If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people. |
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. | Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. |
Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. | Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. |
Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. | Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. |
Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. | For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. |
Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority. | Pay to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. |
