- Jesus answered them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.”
- Speak out, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a ruler. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the mind of the wicked is of little worth. - Let your word be ‘Yes, Yes’ or ‘No, No’; anything more than this comes from the evil one.
- But as for you, teach what is consistent with sound doctrine.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. - Lying lips conceal hatred,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. - For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured in my bosom the words of his mouth. - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - Above all, my beloved, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “Yes” be yes and your “No” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

and my cry to him reached his ears. - Because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
- If you refrain from trampling the sabbath,
from pursuing your own interests on my holy day;
if you call the sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
serving your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs;
then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - If another disciple sins, you must rebuke the offender, and if there is repentance, you must forgive. And if the same person sins against you seven times a day, and turns back to you seven times and says, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive.
- On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
- Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.
- Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
- Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
- You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that the Lord has not spoken?” If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it.
- But Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
- Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
but those who act faithfully are his delight. - Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but not for God; for God all things are possible.”
